As a man, many people would make the assumption that the only type of cooking that I like to do is on the grill. For me, this is as far from the truth as possible. I love trying new things and making new concoctions, the problem for me is that I simply don’t have a lot of time to be able to do a lot of cooking with working full time, so J-Mom tends to do most of the cooking around the house (even though she is not a huge fan).
As my girls have been growing up, I have tried to start to do small projects with them to have them experience the joy of experimenting and making something both unique and delicious. Most of the time it is to large messes and questionable food dishes, but the way I look at it, it is all a part of the process itself.
Last night we made some sugar cookies (this time from a box), but it was a blast just getting our hands dirty mixing things together, and while J-Mom was probably rolling her eyes at me, I did clean up after myself for my credit!
I have found some great websites that provide some recipes as well as tips for cooking with kids that I have enjoyed, and I hope that you will also!

I know that I will continue to cook with my kids and let them be the master of their own creations. I think that this is the most important when letting kids cook, you can’t be worried about the outcome or how it will taste, you simply have to let it happen.
I would love to hear some of your stories of cooking with your kids! Please share your experiences with the masses!
